Swampscott’s football team made sure to keep Beverly out of the win column Saturday, and, more importantly, upped its record to 4-3 with a 14-0 win in enemy territory.
Sam Nadworny racked up 153 yards and two touchdowns in consistent fashion (5.3 yards per carry). One of his touchdowns was a 10-yard burst, the other a 3-yarder.
Joe Marino converted both extra points, and that was all the scoring needed. Will Bush carried nine times for 47 yards, Jack Spear completed 10 passes for 83 yards, and Jack Hazell hauled in four receptions for 50 yards.

FOOTBALL
Saugus 20
Falmouth 12
After dropping their last three games, Saturday’s bus ride back from Falmouth must have felt good after the Sachems’ 20-12 victory.
Saugus, 4-3, was led by a pair of touchdowns from Tommy DeSimone. One was a 38-yard explosion to put the visitors ahead, 13-0, in the third quarter.
From there, Ameen Taboubi caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Rodriquez in the fourth to put the game on ice.
The Sachems welcome Winthrop this Friday at 6:30 p.m.
GIRLS SOCCER
St. Mary’s 3
Marblehead 0
The Lady Spartans (10-6-1) are still riding their winning streak, which now stands at five games after a 3-0 win against Marblehead at Manning Field.
Bella Owumi scored the first two before Sophie Skabeikis added the insurance. Kylie Kennison played a strong game in net.
“It’s a great non-league win against a tough Marblehead squad. We’re playing well right now. We’ve only given up two goals in five games,” said coach Jim Foley. “The defense was on point today. Riley Maguire, Ava Nason, and Cameryn Dunn played phenomenal games defensively.”
FIELD HOCKEY
St. Mary’s 2
Danvers 1
Against the Northeastern Conference’s top team, Danvers (12-2-2), St. Mary’s field hockey team (10-3-2) picked up a 2-1 win on the road.
A pair of freshmen, Bella Freitas and Keira Twomey, did the scoring, while only one goal got by Gianna Tringale in the cage.
VOLLEYBALL
Lynn Classical 3
Wakefield 2
In a “thriller,” according to Classical coach Chris LeBlanc, his Rams (14-3) knocked off No. 6 Wakefield, 3-2, in a five-set classic.
In set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 24-26, 25-21, and 15-10, Classical was led by Amanda Hughes (16 kills, ace), Linda Jallow (10 kills), Nevaeh Eth (6 kills), and the ever-so-unselfish Emma Chevalier (33 assists).
Classical trailed in each of the first two sets, but Eth’s seven consecutive points in the first brought the Rams back.
They came back, again, from a 7-4 deficit in the fourth set to tie the match, and built an 11-6 lead in the fifth to win.
“The fifth set belonged to the captains. Hughes and Jallow dominated offensively with five kills and an ace, respectively,” LeBlanc said.
In its Dig Pink fundraiser match, Classical hosts Chelsea Monday to determine if the Rams will win the Greater Boston League alone, or share with Chelsea.
