You know what I’ve been thinking? When you clinch a state tournament appearance for the first time in program history, that’s more than enough for Team of the Week.
The Saugus volleyball team – which also reached the 10-win threshold this season – defeated Everett in a five-set thriller Friday night.
With coach Mikayla Niles at the helm, the match was capped by a 15-10 set victory, and the celebration began.
“I am so proud and happy of every single one of the girls who are on my team. Everyone played absolutely phenomenal tonight,” Niles said. “They left everything they had out there. There were little-to-no mistakes. Everyone was hitting [and] they were playing aggressively. Everyone was so cheerful and, together, played so well as a unit. I couldn’t be more happy.”
