LYNN — The city has unveiled a new and improved website, www.lynnma.gov, following Mayor Jared Nicholson’s initiative to revamp the city’s online platform. The updated site aims to enhance accessibility to city resources by providing an easier way for residents to connect with city programs, events, and departments at City Hall.

After the developers ran several test runs and made final adjustments, the new website was officially launched on Oct. 20.

The project was a collaborative effort with software-system provider Intrado, which upgraded the city’s website and the Lynn Public Schools website. Valerie Vong, the communications and strategic initiatives manager for the mayor’s office, took the lead in overseeing the project’s implementation.

“Our goal is to enhance the city’s communication and digital presence in the community,” Vong said. “The city’s website is key to keeping residents informed and throughout the developing process, we prioritized intentional engagement from residents to guide us in creating and maintaining a platform that is accessible and supportive of all.”

According to Vong, input from the public played a crucial role in shaping the new website’s design. Community engagement included a citywide survey and focus groups, and Vong said the consensus was clear: the website required a significant upgrade, with respondents emphasizing the need for improved navigation.

Nicholson praised the upgraded website, describing it as a substantial improvement.

“The new website is a major upgrade that presents information in a cleaner, clearer form,” Nicholson said. “Most importantly, we want people to feel that City Hall and city government are easily accessible when they have a question or concern.”

In preparation for the launch, all city departments received training on posting and editing content on the new website to ensure a smooth transition from the old platform.
