With two Lynn rivals going head-to-head under the lights at Manning Field on Monday, something had to give. The Tigers, on senior night, clawed past the Panthers earning a narrow 2-1 win.
The game was tied at zero at halftime with both teams unable to convert their chances.
The deadlock was broken by Raymond Ferrera who scored a header off of a corner kick early in the second half.
Lynn Tech doubled its lead minutes later when Anthony Perez pounced on a KIPP error and poked the ball into the back of the net.
With 10 minutes left, the Panthers were awarded a penalty kick which was converted by senior Henry Romero. Romero placed the kick perfectly in the bottom left corner.
Unfortunately for the Panthers, there wasn’t enough time to find an equalizer.
