To the editor:

Thanks to the sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and many others, the Northeast Arc’s 54th annual Mike Frangos Commodore Invitational Golf Tournament was another huge success despite having to postpone the event due to the weather. More than $180,000 was raised to help the Northeast Arc support children and adults with disabilities and autism and their families.

The event, the oldest charity golf tournament in the country, would not have been so successful without the support of our friends in the business community. Thank you to the tournament’s presenting sponsor HUB International, and the leadership provided by Charles Brophy, president and CEO of HUB International New England, and Jim Palleschi, senior vice president of HUB International New England.

Major sponsors included Atlantic Charter Insurance, the McCarthy Family Foundation, PLAN of Massachusetts & Rhode Island, and Dave Wooton.

Additional sponsors included Alex Brown, a division of Raymond James, Bake ‘n Joy, The Behrakis Foundation, Encore Boston Harbor, HMDRS Law, The Jauron Family Foundation, Liberty Mutual, Bent Water Brewing, Morgan Stanley’s Walden Pond Group, New England Biolabs, North Shore Bank, One Digital, Philadelphia Insurance, Rockland Trust, RSM, Windover Construction, Arbella Insurance Foundation, Connolly Brothers, Eastern Bank & Huron Consulting, and Rasky Partners.

Thank you to Cassie DiOrio and her son, Joey, who were interviewed during the dinner by Boston media personality and longtime Northeast Arc advocate Kim Carrigan to share how their family has benefited from Northeast Arc.

Congratulations to the winning foursome of Zach Brody, Paul Kurker, Sam Kurker, and Todd Patnone.

The Northeast Arc is proud to serve communities that are so supportive of our efforts. We are looking forward to celebrating the 55th anniversary of the golf outing next year.

Sincerely,

Jo Ann Simons

Northeast Arc CEO
