Roca, a community violence intervention (CVI) agency in Lynn, has entered into a partnership with DoorDash, aiming to offer resources and support to local communities. DoorDash, through its Community Credits program, is set to donate $3,000 worth of gift cards to Roca to enhance its programs and community involvement.
Launched in 2021, the Community Credits program directly allocates DoorDash gift cards to nonprofit organizations. According to an official press release, the primary goal is to help these organizations further serve their respective communities, alleviate food insecurity, and expand initiatives that create opportunities.
“It is more important now than ever that we do everything we can to reduce violence and heal trauma in communities with the least access to behavioral health care, and we are thrilled and honored to partner with DoorDash on this urgent project,” Molly Baldwin, Founder, and CEO at Roca said in the press release.
Roca’s core mission is to address issues related to incarceration, poverty, and racism by introducing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to the community. Their objective is to provide valuable support to community members in need throughout the Commonwealth.
“Organizations like Roca are doing critically important work, bringing resources and support directly to vulnerable young adults,” Darrell Davis, Senior Manager of Public Engagement at DoorDash, said in the press release. “DoorDash is honored to collaborate with this organization and provide them with the resources to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need additional support, especially ahead of the upcoming holiday season.”
According to the press release, Roca and DoorDash’s partnership signifies a important step forward in offering support and resources to local communities. DoorDash has planned a series of food access programs and community engagement events within the Greater Boston region for the remainder of the year. In the previous year, DoorDash provided funding to aid residents in underserved neighborhoods, specifically in Cambridge, Randolph, and Dorchester, ensuring that they could enjoy Thanksgiving meals.
