According to a press release from the department, officers responded to a report of two people shot at 85 E. Newton St. in the city’s South End just before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

One victim, later identified as Sosa, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, who has not been identified, suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Further investigation revealed that both victims were shot in a parking lot across from 12 Glenville Ave. in Allston.

The Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the shooting. Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact the Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.
