To the editor:
In my humble opinion, not enough is being done to prevent these tragedies. The family of the shooter are also victims. If the powers that be were warned ahead of time he was acting strange, had been mentally ill and treated, and was a danger to himself and others — What was he doing with firearms? — This should have been a red flag to law enforcement and, just maybe, this tragedy could have been prevented. Not only the victims are mourning this tragedy, but the family of the shooter, because they reached out and said he had mental-health issues. Not enough is being done for the mentally ill, not enough is being done to prevent these tragedies. I pray for peace.
Sincerely,
Josephine Russo
