PEABODY — Local communities felt the impact of Monday’s intense storm, as fallen tree branches and power outages were in no short supply.

The Bordonaro family saw one large tree just beyond its backyard fence collapse toward its property on Judith Road, hitting the southwest side of its home at approximately 8:30 a.m.

“I was in the bathroom cleaning up… and the next thing I know it was almost like an explosion in my house,” Angelo Bordonaro said. “It literally just shocked me. I had no idea what was going on.”

Bordonaro expressed relief that no one in his family was injured, and gratitude to the landscapers who came swiftly to remove the fallen tree in his backyard.

Bordonaro plans to find the “best contractor around” to repair his roof.

In Lynn, a large tree branch fell into the front yard of a residence on Lynn Shore Drive.

The Lynnfield Public Library was without power and phone service throughout the early part of the day, as was a commercial property in town at 590 Main St. Services was reportedly restored at approximately 2 p.m.
