Three people were injured in a shooting outside a Lynn Pizza Hut on Tuesday night.
Lynn Police responded to a reported shooting at 39 State St. at 8:32 p.m. Tuesday.
The three victims were located, treated at the scene, and transported to an area hospital with serious gunshot wounds.
On Wednesday morning, Lynn Police Lt. Rick Connick said he did not have an update on the victims’ conditions.
No suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been made as of Wednesday afternoon, he added.
“This appears to be a targeted attack,” Connick said. “We do not believe there is any further threat to the public.”
Mayor Jared Nicholson released a statement Wednesday afternoon in response to the shooting.
“We wish the victims of last night’s senseless violence a successful recovery, and our thoughts are with their families,” Nicholson said. “The Christmas season should be a time of joyful reflection. The people behind this attack disrupted that by seeking out the victims and endangering others in a public plaza.”
He thanked public safety’s quick response and said that he appreciates the efforts to investigate the shooting.
“While the attack was targeted, this type of violence is a threat to us all and will not be tolerated,” Nicholson said.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with any information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the Lynn Police Department at 781-595-2000.
