Former Ward 2 Lynn City Councilor Rick Starbard appeared on this week’s episode of “The American Dream,” a show hosted by Attorney James J. Carrigan, to discuss Starbard’s status as a potential role model for other elected officials.
The show, which airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., and Saturdays at 7 a.m. on Comcast Channel 3 and Verizon Channel 38, is “designed to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at how public and private policy is developed,” according to Carrigan. Starbard was first elected to represent Ward 2 in 2016, serving three terms on the council before opting not to run for re-election this fall.
The conversation between Starbard and Carrigan ran just under half-an-hour and began with a discussion of Starbard’s approach to his former role as a councilor.
“I think in any business, you try to manage your clients’ expectations. I try to do that with my clients in my business, and I tried to do that with my constituents,” he said. “I would try to do everything I could to answer people’s questions before they asked them.”
