DA Tucker looks back at first year in office on Carrigan’s ‘American Dream’

Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker joined Attorney James J. Carrigan on his Lynn Community TV show, β€œThe American Dream,” this week to provide an update on the work his office is doing.

The show, which airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., and Saturdays at 7 a.m. on Comcast Channel 3 and Verizon Channel 38, is β€œdesigned to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at how public and private policy is developed,” according to Carrigan.

Tucker, a former police chief and state representative from Salem, has served as district attorney since January 2023, after replacing Jonathan Blodgett, who opted not to run for reelection in 2022 after two decades in the office.

The conversation between Tucker and Carrigan ran just shy of half an hour, and began with Tucker reflecting on his first year as district attorney.

β€œI’m very proud of the work we’ve done,” he said, noting that his office has about 180 staff members. β€œWe’ve done everything from town halls, to meeting with school superintendents… we’ve worked with elderly folks, making sure they’re not victims of scams, people with substance-use issues and mental health, we’ve done a lot of those good things.”

Episodes can be found on the Lynn Community Television website after they air.
