For steals, setups, and swishes, just head to Lynn Classical High School.

But not just for the varsity boys team – both the junior varsity and freshman teams have had quite the seasons.

Classical’s freshman program just completed a 16-0 season with a win against Chelsea Thursday night. With Roberto Sanchez helming the Rams, the win marked Classical’s first Greater Boston League Championship.

Then there’s the JV team, which finished a strong 10-6 season this week under the direction of Richie Warren Sr.

The varsity Rams stand at 9-6 with three games remaining in their regular season. Behind Marvin Avery Jr. (24 points) and Rolky Brea Arias (12 points, 12 rebounds), Classical clinched its spot in the MIAA Division 3 state tournament Thursday with a 53-48 win against Chelsea.

“It was a big-time win on the road,” said head coach Marvin Avery Sr.

Both the boys and girls varsity teams at Lynn Classical are set for state tournament appearances this winter.

“Super proud of both teams and the playoffs will be very exciting,” said Athletic Director Billy Devin. “As always, go Rams.”

The girls visit Georgetown at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while the boys take on Medford on the road next Thursday at 6 p.m.
