DANVERS — Northeast Arc is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism. These funds will support individuals and families who receive services through the Autism Support Center, with a particular focus on traditionally under-served, under-funded, and culturally diverse communities.

“We are honored to once again receive this important funding from the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism,” said Gloria Ricardi-Castillo, director of family support centers at Northeast Arc. “We serve a diverse range of families with varied needs, in communities from Lowell to Lynn, and this grant will allow us the flexibility to support our families in ways that are most impactful to them.”

The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, based in Framingham, awards grants annually through a competitive application and review process. The Autism Community Impact Grants that the Flutie Foundation distributed this year provide support in the foundation’s areas of interest: providing a path for educational and vocational skills, supporting recreational and active lifestyles, and ensuring people with autism are safe, supported, and informed.

“The Flutie Foundation Autism Community Impact Grants help our partner agencies address a variety of significant needs in the autism community,” said Nick Savarese, executive director of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism. “Programs like these are helping people on the autism spectrum live life to the fullest and we are proud to support their efforts.”
