Saugus Police responded to a call for shots fired outside the Buffalo Wild Wings adjacent to Square One Mall Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Officers were called to 180 Main St. at 4:17 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of gunfire in the parking lot, said Kelli O’Hara, a spokesperson for Saugus Police, in a statement. A witness told investigators that they heard a gunshot while inside a restaurant nearby. The witness also told police he saw two men running away from the scene while a black sedan sped away when he went outside to investigate the sound, the statement said.
When officers arrived, they did not find any victims but did find ballistics in the parking lot.
The statement said that no one is in custody, and the incident remains under investigation.
