We are writing to express our unwavering support for Kate DePrizio’s reelection campaign to the Lynnfield School Committee. Kate’s dedication to transparency, communication, accountability, and engagement has had a profound impact on our community, and her leadership has been instrumental in addressing critical issues facing our schools.
Throughout her tenure, Kate has consistently advocated for better transparency and increased communication, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and involved in decision-making processes. Her commitment to accountability has been evident in her efforts to hold both herself and fellow committee members to the highest standards of integrity.
One notable example of Kate’s recent advocacy occurred in November, when she fearlessly championed the interests of students, staff, and the community. By bringing attention to issues with former Superintendent Kristen Vogel and seeing the resolution through, Kate demonstrated her unwavering dedication to ensuring the well-being of our schools.
Under Kate’s leadership as chair, the Lynnfield School Committee has undergone a remarkable transformation in a short period of time. She sought to appoint new legal representation and negotiated the crucial separation agreement of the departing superintendent with the collaboration of the town administrator and Select Board, fostering a spirit of harmony and partnership. Additionally, Kate’s efforts to inspire a team-like culture within the committee have been widely praised, with members and interim Superintendent Thomas Geary commending her strategic planning and leadership.
Kate’s track record of success is undeniable. From being the chair during resolving the former superintendent issue and saving the district significant funds to crafting a collaborative budget presentation that prioritizes classroom needs, she has consistently delivered results for our schools. Her appointment of an interim superintendent with full committee support and advocacy for increased communication and transparency further demonstrate her commitment to advancing our educational system.
Furthermore, Kate’s involvement in various committees and advocacy for crucial initiatives, such as the tech audit and solutions for DLP/SSP student needs, highlight her proactive approach to addressing challenges and finding innovative solutions.
Moreover, Kate’s dedication extends beyond her role in the School Committee. She is an active volunteer within our schools and community, consistently going above and beyond to make a difference. For instance, she collaborated with the Girl Scouts to organize a gift card fundraiser in partnership with the veteran service agent, demonstrating her commitment to supporting both our students and local veterans. Furthermore, Kate takes on the responsibility of running the school variety show, showcasing her passion for fostering creativity and community spirit among Lynnfield’s youth.
By combining her tireless advocacy within the School Committee with her hands-on involvement in school and community initiatives, Kate DePrizio embodies the spirit of servant leadership. She leads not only with words but also with meaningful actions, making a tangible and positive impact on the lives of students, families, and residents alike. From our experiences as the elected town moderator and as a classroom teacher we wholeheartedly support her vision for the future of the Lynnfield school district.
