Fire departments from across the region responded to a three-alarm fire that destroyed a 2.5-story brick and wood house at 5 Stafford Road in Lynnfield on Thursday night.
The Lynnfield Fire Department released a statement on Facebook saying that all occupants of the home and the family dog were able to escape with no injuries.
The first 911 call came at 8:12 p.m. for a garage fire. A second alarm was triggered after the fire spread to the attic and the rest of the home, which quickly lead to a third alarm. The department said that Melrose and Danvers engines and a Lynn ladder truck were also present at the scene.
Witnesses saw dozens of firefighters from other departments from communities such as Wakefield, Stoneham, Middleton, Saugus, Reading, and North Reading join the Lynnfield Fire Department in battling the fire.
Witnesses also said that they could smell the smoke from Summer Street near Huckleberry Hill Elementary School due to strong winds.
Crews blocked off the street from both ends and ordered everyone out of the building.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
