LYNN — The Fire Department arrived at City Hall after a report of a freon leak from a refrigerator located on the first floor at approximately 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The leak created a haze emanating from the refrigerator, but was resolved by first responders by 11 a.m. Individuals were evacuated and allowed back inside by 11 a.m. as well. According to District Fire Chief Dan Sullivan, there were no injuries or ailments as a result of the leak.
“Some of the workers in the building damaged a refrigerant line that was feeding an ice maker,” Sullivan said. “The ice maker has been removed from the building, we used fans to clear the air to make sure there was no residual (freon).”
