LYNN — Five prominent women from the area joined James J. Carrigan on his LCTV show, “The American Dream,” this week to discuss Women’s History Month.

The conversation, which ran for just less than an hour, featured state Rep. Jenny Armini, My Brother’s Table Executive Director Dianne Kuzia Hills, President and CEO of the North Shore Latino Business Association Inc. Frances Martinez, Racial Justice Coalition Vice President and Co-Chair and Prevent The Cycle President Adriana Paz, and Essex Media Group Senior Designer Emilia Sun.

It featured discussions on prejudice against women, the achievements of the panelists, and the accomplishments of prominent women throughout the country’s history, like former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Frances Perkins, the former secretary of labor who was the first woman to serve in a presidential cabinet.

“I think we have come a long way, but if we, as a community, in different roles put a drop of sand, you eventually will be able to make a castle,” Martinez said.

The show is “designed to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at how public and private policy is developed,” according to Carrigan.

The show airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., and Saturdays at 7 a.m. on Comcast Channel 3 and Verizon Channel 38. It can also be watched online at www.Lynntv.org.
