Rotary Club offers Peabody High School seniors scholarship options

For the Item

March 28, 2024 by For the Item

The Rotary Club of Peabody is excited to offer three scholarship opportunities to outgoing high school students. Any Peabody resident graduating high school this year is eligible to apply. The deadline for all scholarships is April 1, 2024.

Once again, Rotary Peabody will be offering the culmination of all of its fundraising efforts: three scholarship options for high school seniors following different paths. The club believes supporting Peabody’s youth in their continuing endeavors is one of the best investments we can make in our city’s future and funnels a significant portion of raised funds to these scholarships. The scholarships offered are:

1. The Service Above Self Scholarship, awarded to those who exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service above Self.”

2. The Career and Technical Education Scholarship, awarded to students pursuing a trade after graduation; please note, priority will be given to those attending trade programs, two-year schools or using the funds for tools/equipment.

3. The Sam Berns Scholarship, awarded to students who have overcome obstacles and otherwise exemplify the qualities Berns practiced daily.

Applicants must be a Peabody resident and a graduating senior of an accredited public, private, parochial, vocational, or charter high school.

Any students interested in applying should visit www.rotarypeabody.org for more information.

This program is funded by The Rotary Club of Peabody’s fundraising efforts, most notably our annual Taste of the North Shore. All generous donations, participants and sponsors help make these scholarship opportunities possible. If you would like to help Rotary Peabody in their endeavors to support Peabody’s youth, please consider attending their annual Taste of the North Shore or go to www.rotarypeabody.org for donation information and more about what the club does for its community.
