You know what I’ve been thinking? A scoring run of 45-6 would be a great one in football – let alone softball.
That’s what Lynn English did across a three-game stretch against Malden, Lynn Tech, and Chelsea this past week. Mark it down as a 3-0 week for coach Ashley Aldred and company.
In a 9-1 win against Chelsea to start things off – a low-scoring affair compared to what followed – Kate Johansson struck out 17 batters in her complete game. She also went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and a walk.
Fast forward a day, and the Bulldogs hunted down the Lynn Tech Tigers, 18-3. Johansson did it again in the circle, and English won the hitting category, 10-2.
Teanna Nguon had a pair of hits alongside three RBI, while LeaNyah Pineiro registered another two RBI to go with four walks. Ariana Reynoso (3 RBI) and Annika Johansson (2 hits, 2 runs) joined the fun, too.
Then, Monday wasn’t so gloomy over here. English took care of Malden, 18-2, behind Arianna Laboy’s six strikeouts and another versatile attack from the offense. Kate Johansson, Laboy, Annika Johansson, and Grace Mulloy combined to bring in 10 runs.
The Bulldogs visit Medford at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Let’s see if they can get another touchdown or two.
Bulldogs, good week.
