To the editor:
Regarding the recent encampments on many college campuses, since when do they demand that colleges divest from Israel, for that matter anything else that suits their fancy?
Those who are fortunate to attend college, are they not there to learn?
Most of you don’t have any idea of what you’re protesting about, either you have nothing better to do or just like camping out.
There are people who understand that foreign influence has precipitated these actions.
Non-students join in because they enjoy causing havoc, putting everyone in danger including law enforcement.
People who say that law enforcement went too far, I beg to differ, they were treated with kid gloves.
When you are asked to disperse and risk being arrested, that’s just what it means. Move along!
Now children, do you have any idea of the history of the Middle East? I’ll take that as a no.
Go back from the beginning, when the Israelites (slaves), Romans, plus many other factions, too many to list here, go on your phones and do some homework.
Let’s take the present day, there’s a country in the Middle East called Iran that by the way wants to wipe the Jews off the face of the earth.
They also have their proxies, Hizbollah, Hamas who in turn do their bidding, while they stay on the sidelines, who us? We did nothing!
As long as these terrorists, governments exist, unfortunately there will be no peace.
Just look at Oct. 7.
One last thing, back when President Clinton was in office, there was a time when both sides were in serious negotiations, back and forth, back and forth, yes it was difficult, delegations threatened to leave, that’s when President Clinton told both sides, get back in there and work it out!!
There was give and take, Israel by far gave up more so both sides were finally able to live in peace.
Well, according to the PLO, they felt there was just one more meeting, they would have a peace agreement.
What happened, those of you who remember, the suicide bombings on buses, restaurants, and in the streets.
Hamas knew exactly what they were doing, do you think for one minute they care about all the innocent lives lost? I’ll take that as a no!
Removing the American flag and to replace it the Palestinian flag, as a Navy veteran I find it disgusting, you should all be ashamed of yourselves!
