To the editor:
So the Stocker Playground is in a “dilapidated” state. How could this happen?
It couldn’t be the years of neglect by the town, could it? It couldn’t be the rules and bylaws that were ignored by the officials, could it?
Hardly a day goes by without an official town vehicle going into the park. No offenders, rule-benders, or outright lawbreakers are removed.
Evidently a land trust given “in perpetuity” now means until someone in authority wants to usurp the property.
Evidently, environmental concerns are only concerns until someone in authority decides they are not.
Located next to the Saugus River, this property is subject to flooding. I cannot think of one thing about dog excrement that would benefit this river.
