No home turf, no problem for Lynn’s boys lacrosse team, and a happy Friday.
The Jets flew away with one on the road, leaving Lowell with a 10-2 win behind six goals and a helper from Ian Brown. Also joining the offensive party were Jordan Em (2 goals), Owen Toomey (goal, assist), Trey Rossetti (goal), John Briggs (assist), and Rafael Ortiz De La Rosa (assist).
BASEBALL
Bishop Feehan 1
St. Mary’s 0
After an 11-0 start to the spring, St. Mary’s has since dropped two straight. This one was a pitchers’ duel against Bishop Feehan, which is atop the Catholic Central League with an unbeaten record. The Spartans did receive strong pitching from both Josh Doney and Jacob Peterson in defeat.
SOFTBALL
Peabody 12

Make it another no-hitter for Peabody – this time from Avery Grieco (5 K, 0 BB). Abby Bettencourt (2 home runs), Lizzy Bettencourt (1), and Logan Lomasney (1) all went home with home runs, too.
St. Mary’s 15
Woburn 4
St. Mary’s (8 straight wins) upped its record to 8-2 with a 15-4 road win against Woburn. Brooke Moloney (3 hits) led the offensive charge, while Aliza Crean-Oviedo played a strong game in the circle.
Reading 12
Lynn Classical 6
Despite Lynn Classical (5-7) being doubled up by Reading, Friday wasn’t all bad for the Lady Rams. Nevaeh Eth (2-for-3, double, run, RBI), Lauren Wilson (2-for-4, double, run, RBI), Rachel Dana (2 runs, 90th career hit), Brooke Braswell (2-for-4, run, 2 RBI), and Emma Chevalier (2-run double) all had things to smile about.
GIRLS TENNIS
Lynnfield 4
North Reading 1
It was business as usual for Lynnfield’s girls tennis team (7-3). Usual suspects Paige Martino and Lily Alves picked up singles wins. From there, the doubles duos of Leticia Marafon-Ella Hayman and Vicky McCrann-Emma Wagon sealed North Reading’s fate.
