LYNN — The third annual Flag Burning and Burial Ceremony will be held by Cpl. Scott J. Procopio and Capt. William G. Shoemaker of American Legion Post 210 on June 15 at 10 a.m.

Flags that are worn, stained, or tattered will be properly destroyed by burning and then buried in an urn vault at the Veterans Lot, as an honorable way to retire American flags with dignity.

The American Legion collects tattered flags year-round and they can be dropped off anytime at Solimine Funeral Homes, located at 426 Broadway, or any of the fire stations in the city.
