SAUGUS– The Fire Department responded to a fire at 17 Lily Pond Ave on Sunday afternoon.
According to Saugus Fire Capt. Thomas Nolan, the cause of the fire was a squirrel nest with rodents eating the wires from the home’s solar panels. Nolan added there were no injuries, and the surface fire did not extend into the attic.
“The guys (firefighters) were able to get in and climb up the ladder before it extended into the attic,” Nolan said. “They did a great job.”
