SWAMPSCOTT — Hadley Elementary School staff and parents put together a special ceremony for the school’s 60 fourth-grade graduates.
After more than a century in existence, Hadley has closed its doors, with a brand-new elementary school on Whitman Road set to open this fall. The building will soon be renovated into a boutique hotel by the town.
The children donned caps and gowns, as the event aimed to capture a similar level of pomp and circumstance as a high-school commencement.
Resident Jennifer Tripp’s three children all are Hadley graduates, with her youngest, Clara Tripp, being a member of the Class of 2024.
“I still remember walking Gabe (now 17) into his first day of kindergarten and the warm welcome that filled the playground,” Jennifer Tripp said. “We will miss this place, but we are so excited for the kids that will move on to the new school and make great memories with these amazing teachers.”
