Car narrowly misses two Peabody houses after driving off the road

PEABODY — A car drove off Washington Street into the backyard of 2 Washington Place Monday afternoon, a Peabody Police Officer on the scene stated.

The car drove in between the garage and the house and stopped after breaking through the fence and hitting 6 Washington Place, the officer stated.

Police said they are still unsure what caused the driver to drive off the road and it is an ongoing investigation.

The airbags in the vehicle activated and no one was injured during the accident, the officer on the scene stated.
