MARBLEHEAD — We are pleased to announce the grand reopening of Abbot Public Library on Wednesday, July 10. We have received our certificate of occupancy that allows full access to the building for public use and allows the use of the front walkway while we complete design and construction of a new fully compliant accessible ramp during the next few months. Anyone with mobility concerns may use our lower entrance, which provides ADA-compliant access.

The library will be open Friday, July 5 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturday, July 6 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Sunday, July 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Literary Festival. However, library services will be unavailable during the festival.

Returns will be accepted at our outdoor book bins effective immediately. Patrons can request items for pick up at Marblehead as of Monday, July 8.

Regular business hours will resume Wednesday, July 10. The hours of service will be:

Monday: 9:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Tuesday: 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Thursday: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Friday: 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday: Closed

Reservations for our new small meeting rooms open on Wednesday, July 10. (Reservations will open for the Marblehead Room and Event Center in early August.)

Programs are scheduled to resume Monday, July 15.
