To the editor:
I thought that President Joe Biden would weather the storm and not acquiesce to the people who wanted him out.
His own party, unbelievably, as I mentioned once before, are all self-serving to save their own hides.
If the president remained in the race and lost to Donald Trump, make no mistake, some of these people who are running for reelection would lose their seats and have to look for some other employment.
Look, I don’t have a dog in this fight, but to assemble a wagon train consisting of 30 lawmakers circling his home, one maybe with a bullhorn asking the president to bow out of the race, hoping he would come out and wave a white flag — well they got their wish, the weight must have been too much!
When I was young growing up in south Salem, there were so many kids in the neighborhood, once and awhile the older kids would start what was called a pile-on. They grabbed a few kids and started piling on. By the time it was over, you had at least 15 people piled, one on top of the other. I was once the bottom man.
Bottom line is, this must have been something the president felt, being at the bottom of the pile. It’s not pleasant!
Let me say a few words regarding the leakers from the White House who would tell which lawmakers asked the president to step down.
You who did this for your own self-serving ambitions, shame on you!!
When someone entrusts you to not leak information of this kind, you remain loyal. If you don’t have any idea of what the meaning is, too bad for you. Wherever you go, you’ll always be a tattletale, you’re not trustworthy.
Now I’ll get to Donald Trump. Thankfully, he survived an assassin’s bullet. I for one would never want to experience something of that magnitude. God was definitely watching over him!
Well, he’s back to his old self, calling Vice President Kamala Harris nuts and crazy.
Once the vice president wins the presidential nomination — I would be surprised if she didn’t — and the running mate is announced, I’m sure Trump will pull out his own dictionary, not Webster’s, and have some carefully crafted wording describing the individual.
Stay tuned, it should be very interesting.
