LYNN — The city officially unveiled more than $200,000 in pedestrian improvements that will make a section of Pleasant Street easier and safer to maneuver.
Mayor Jared Nicholson was joined Thursday by other elected officials, Lynn Police, and several members of Mass Senior Action in cutting the ribbon on a new crosswalk and curb cuts at the intersection of Bond and Pleasant streets. Similar work was completed down the street in front of St. Stephen’s Tower, one of several senior-housing developments in the area.
“Having walkable communities is so important,” Nicholson said. “We want to have a thriving downtown and support local businesses, and people feeling comfortable walking around is a big part of that. It’s also important to make it easier for our seniors to get around.”
