LYNN — The Police Department is actively searching for Brian Lopez, a missing 17-year-old resident of the city, according to a statement from the department.
Lopez left his residence at Warren Place on Friday at approximately 10:30 a.m. on foot, according to the statement.
He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 125 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair.
According to the statement, Lopez was last seen wearing black pants, a gray and white striped hooded sweatshirt, and all-gray Nike sneakers with a red swoosh on the sides. He was carrying a gray backpack.
Lopez was last seen Friday morning on video surveillance walking on Myrtle Street toward Walnut Street. His cell phone was also found on Gardiner Street on Friday, according to the statement.
The Police Department, Fire Department, and State Police have conducted extensive searches of Lynn Woods and are continuing to search for Lopez. These agencies have used the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, drones, K-9 search dogs, mountain bicycles, all-terrain vehicles, and foot searches, according the the statement.
Lopez worked for The Food Project in Lynn and Wenham. Anyone with information regarding Lopez is encouraged to call the Police Department at 781-595-2000.
