LYNN — The Downtown Cultural District will hold its annual Arts and Culture Festival on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A trolley has been arranged to transport attendees between festival stops for free. The first stop is at the corner of Washington Street and Sagamore Street. The second stop is at the corner of Exchange Street and Mount Vernon Street, and the third stop is High Rock Tower Park.
At the Lynn Museum, there will be an art-installation celebration with Raw Art Works and Lynn Youth Street Outreach Advocacy, and the museum will be open to the public for free. At the park behind the museum, there will be a fair featuring local art vendors.
At the Galleries at LynnArts, there will be an open art bar all day for people to enjoy various art-making activities and mocktails.
There will also be open studios at the Brush and Fig and North Shore Music Center galleries on the second floor, and the “Paint by the Ocean: Artwork by Annette Skies” exhibit on the first floor.
Beyond Walls at 18 Mount Vernon St. will offer tours of the studio at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and artists will paint the viaducts live. The studio at Raw Art Works at 37 Central Square will also be open and provide art-making activities to attendees.
At High Rock Tower, free ice cream from the Cuckie’s Soft Serve Ice Cream truck will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and there will be glitter tattoo art from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tours of the tower will also be conducted until 3 p.m.
Lucille Wine at 776 Washington St. will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., offering a selection of fine wines and the opportunity to taste a selection of wines in a festive atmosphere. First City Meats is also a highlighted food vendor and will be preparing its specialty First City Tacos.
