August 8, 2024 by For the Item

For the past few summers, members of the Lynn Rotary Club have traveled to Boxford in August to join some 220 campers for lunch at Camp Rotary.

In 1921, a group of Lynn Rotarians purchased a large tract of land in the Boxford woods on Stiles Pond so that Lynn children would have a place to go for the summer. Camp Rotary is a private, nonprofit, educational overnight camp for children ages 7 to 15. It was founded as a service project by Lynn Rotary. Children from throughout New England as well as South America and Europe have attended Camp Rotary. It is the oldest, active service project in Rotary International.
