To the editor:
I am writing this letter in response to Mr. Robert Blum, who asserts that The Item does not criticize Democrats. He must not read the paper on Saturdays, because David M. Shribman has been a relentless critic in these pages of Democratic President Joe Biden. There are numerous instances where stories denouncing Democratic Gov. Maura Healey’s handling of the immigrant crisis and, most recently, wire stories where the majority-Democratic Massachusetts legislature got zinged for not having the budget done on time.
There may be other reasons to criticize our hometown paper, but it is an equal-opportunity critic of the major parties and runs stories and editorials that condemn Democrats.
