LYNN — The Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach hosted a beach clean-up at Red Rock Park in collaboration with the Department of Conservation and Recreation on Saturday.
President of the Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach Bob Tucker said they filled approximately 24 trash bags and 55 community members came out to help in picking up trash.
DCR provided the clean-up materials such as pick poles, trash bags, and gloves, while the Friends provided refreshments and free T-shirts for those who participated in the clean-up.
“It’s part of keeping the area of the beaches as clean as we can,” he said. “DCR does an excellent job with trash pick ups and so the friends chip in and we continue to do our part of it.”
“It was wonderful to see so many people come out to clean Red Rock Park and surrounding areas,” Tucker added.
