SWAMPSCOTT — The Board of Health is in need of a new member as Alicia Reddin has stepped down mid-term.
The town is encouraging residents to submit their resumes and letters of interest to Executive Assistant to the Town Administrator and Select Board Diane Marchese by Thursday, Sept. 5.
The new member will be appointed through a joint decision by the Board of Health and Select Board.
Some of the Board of Health’s stated duties include protection of public health, sanitary living conditions, disease control, food permit issuance, beach testing, solid waste management, and environmental protection.
“Swampscott Board of Health emphasizes a commitment to ensure social and racial equity in envisioning initiatives, enforcing policies, and setting regulations,” Marchese said in a press release. “Swampscott currently seeks candidates with interest and knowledge covering one or more of the above topics and emphasizes the need for a member with experience in environmental protection with a particular interest in environmental protection.”
Applications can be submitted electronically to [email protected] or delivered to Swampscott Town Hall.
The new Board of Health member will join Chair Dr. Peter Sheckman and member Gargi Cooper.
