BOSTON — Andrew Krause, of Saugus, was one of a group of 40 members of Voices of Hope who sang both the American and Canadian national anthems at the Red Sox-Blue Jays game at Fenway Park on Tuesday.
Voices of Hope is a nonprofit organization, the members of which share a passion for the performing arts and a desire to join the fight against cancer by raising awareness and funds for cancer research.
Krause, a Lynn native, is the son of Steve and Linda Krause, of Lynn. He is a graduate of Malden Catholic High School and Salem State University. He will also join Voices of Hope to perform in the group’s gala show on Saturday, Oct. 19 in Andover.
Andrew Krause has been singing and performing in various recitals and shows since he was 3 years old. He said one of the thrills of singing on Tuesday was that it was the first time he had actually been on the field at Fenway Park.
“That was one of the best parts of it,” Andrew Krause said. “I stepped onto that field, and, wow. I was awestruck.”
Additionally, Andrew Krause’s performance with Voices of Hope came just two days before his father’s 71st birthday on Aug. 29.
“It was one of the best birthday presents I could get,” Steve Krause said. “To watch my son on the field at Fenway singing the anthems was just fantastic.”
