Make it two matches, two victories for the Marblehead golf team (2-0), which took care of Malden Catholic, 44-28, just two days after a season-opening win against Masconomet on Tuesday.
Against MC, Marblehead’s Jacob Hershfield shot a 4-under par 31 at Mount Hood Golf Course in Melrose. It tied the front-9 course record, according to coach Bob Green.
“It was incredible,” Green said. “A great round. I’ve been around Northeastern Conference golf since I played for Swampscott from 1965-67, and I can’t recall anyone shooting a 31, anywhere.”
Tyler Forbes, James Bickell, Greyson Leventhal, Joy Meshulam, and Max King also won their matches. The Magicians return Tuesday against Gloucester at Bass Rocks Golf Club.
