MARBLEHEAD — The Marblehead Arts Association held its FUNdraiser event, for a night filled with food, art, comedy, and a silent auction.
Walking through the entrance of the Marblehead Arts Association in the historic Hooper Mansion, guests were greeted on the left with a room of canapés, crackers, various cheeses, and crudités such as celery, carrots, and cucumbers.
The fun didn’t stop there, stepping out from the room and down the hall was the silent auction.
There, gift cards from local businesses were up for the bidding — a $100 gift card to Siana Aesthetics Medical Spa, a $600 gift card to Total Wine & More, and a $250 gift card to Blick Art Materials were some of the choices bidders had to choose from.
Xhazzie Kindle, Marblehead Arts Association’s Director of Operations said that Association is committed to giving back to the community.
“We like to be able to allow other nonprofits to use the building,” Kindle said, saying that the fundraiser event helps to facilitate that.
“In order for us to be able to do that, we need to be finding our own sponsors and doing our own fundraising so we can give back,” Kindle said.
Kindle said that this event was the association’s first fundraiser in around a year and a half. She said that it is an opportunity for engagement with the community.
“Having events like this and really being able to engage with our members and our donors, and just remind them that we’re still here, that’s the value of these sort of things,” Kindle said.
Kindle said that there are many offerings which the Marblehead Arts Association is able to provide due in part to its fundraising activities, such as monthly jazz concerts, and classical music concerts.
Topping the evening off was a performance that brought laughs by North Shore improve troupe, Accidentally On Purpose.
