Just days after allowing a late goal in a draw against Marblehead, Peabody’s girls soccer team suffered the same fate on Saturday. This time, the enemy escaped with a win.
The Tanners conceded one late in the second half to fall, 1-0, against visiting Hamilton-Wenham. Ally Bettencourt and Madi Barrett played strong defensive games, according to Peabody coach Andrew Douglass, among other positives.
“Alessandra Forgione, our keeper, played amazing and had 18 saves,” he said.
Peabody looks to get back on track in a home game against Gloucester on Wednesday. It’s slated for a 6 p.m. start. From there, the Tanners host Beverly at 4 p.m. on Friday.
