The Lynn Classical volleyball team took on traditional archrival Lynn English on Thursday, a match that saw the host Lady Rams sweep their way to victory in scores of 25-10, 25-8, and 25-17.
Ashley Alukonis (3 aces, 2 kills), Amanda Hughes (11 kills, 4 digs), and Mia Pento (20 digs, 2 aces) did most of the damage for the Lady Rams.
“It was a great team effort and all of the kids played well,” said Classical coach Chris LeBlanc. “We served the ball well tonight. I think 24 aces is our best of the season. Our serve receive really stepped up after a tough night last night and only gave up three aces to English. It was nice to see our whole roster get in the game and get some quality minutes.”
A few miles down the road at KIPP Academy, visiting Lynn Tech took care of business, 3-0, in scores of 25-11, 25-14, and 25-9.
Leading the Tigers were Zahara Belizaire (17 assists, 5 digs, 4 aces), Lia Morales (6 kills, 5 digs, 2 aces), Kaylee Deschamps (6 kills), Ana Godoy (7 digs, 3 aces), and Stephanie Hernandez (6 digs).
“Another great team effort from all of our players,” said Tech coach Kaitlyn Wechsler.
