NEW BEDFORD — Angel Avelino, 32, of Lynn, was charged with murder after police responded to a report of a stabbing in which, a 51-year-old male victim was pronounced dead, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III’s Office reported.
The stabbing occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. in an area outside of 1034 Acushnet Ave. Thursday. The victim was brought to Saint Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead, the Office of Thomas Quinn III reported.
It is expected that the defendant will be arraigned on Monday morning in the New Bedford District Court, the Office reported.
Massachusetts State Police Detectives, New Bedford Police, and the Bristol County District Attorney’s Homicide Unit prosecutors are actively investigating the situation.
