MARBLEHEAD — The Marblehead School of Ballet (MSB) is celebrating National Arts and Humanities Month by launching its “Ballet on the Big Screen” series for this fall.

The “Ballet on the Big Screen” series will allow ballet lovers to see performances from well-known and renowned ballet companies, such as the Royal Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet.

The “Ballet on the Big Screen” series kicks off with the Royal Ballet’s performance of “Swan Lake II” on Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. A discussion will be held about the performance, led by MSB Director Paula K. Shiff and dancers Marianela Nuñez and Vadim Muntagirov.

The series continues through the fall, with performances of “Signes” by the Paris Opera Ballet, and a performance of “Les Partineurs” by the Royal Ballet on Nov. 10 and Dec. 15 at 2 p.m., respectively.

“We want to introduce more people of all ages — children, tweens, teenagers, adults, and seniors — to the wonders and benefits of the arts and dance through our school’s programs,” Shiff said in a release.

All events during the “Ballet on the Big Screen” series are open to the public at 115 Pleasant St. Admission is $10 per person.

Those interested in attending may register prior to the event at www.marbleheadschoolofballet.com.
