Lynn Classical’s boys soccer team (3-7-3) played host to Malden (0-11-3) at Manning Field on Tuesday. After two physical halves and some smooth offensive play on part of the Rams, they escaped with a 3-0 win.
“Big win today,” said Classical coach Eric Moreno. “It was great to see Jeremiah Vargas back in at defender after being out for a month with an ankle sprain. It allowed us to move some pieces around and improve the attack.”
Jose Coral netted two goals, while Edison Chacon also found the back of the net and Santos Alvarez delivered a shutout. As of Tuesday morning, Classical was ranked No. 44 in the MIAA Division 2 power rankings.
