To the editor:
I am writing to invite the Lynnfield community to attend the Prayer Gathering for Peace on Nov. 3 at 1:30 pm on Lynnfield Common.
At a time when our country is so divided, it may seem all hope of unity is lost. Many of us feel adrift, anxious, and uncertain about the future. We can be so preoccupied with our own worries that we set our faith aside, but these are the times when faith and prayer are more important than ever!
Do not be discouraged, God is with us!
St. Padre Pio tells us “Pray, hope and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.”
The Prayer Gathering for Peace is an opportunity to join in prayer as a community. We will come together to express our common desire for truth, respect, freedom, and peace. As the foundation of our faith is Catholic, we will be praying the Holy Rosary. We welcome people of all faiths to pray with us as we settle our hearts and minds with this meditative and effective prayer.
If you believe in the transformative power of prayer, come experience the peace of the Rosary!
Please do not be concerned if you have never prayed the Rosary before; we will guide you through the prayers. Let’s create a ripple effect of love and unity that will spread throughout our families, community, nation, and the world! As St. Mother Teresa said “I alone cannot change the world but can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples”
We have planned a fun, family-friendly event including face painting and fall treats. Bring a chair or blanket, bring your kids, and bring a friend, all are welcome!
Let’s make our common ground holy ground!
Important Note: This event is a bipartisan, non-political event. No candidates or issues will be mentioned. Please do not bring political signs or wear political attire. We are coming together with one intention and one cry of the heart, “Father, thy will be done.”
God Bless You!
