SWAMPSCOTT—The Board of Health and Select Board met on Wednesday to vote on the newest Board of Health member. This is after Alicia Reddin stepped down from the position in August of this year.
There were originally two people up for nomination. However, according to Chair Dr. Peter Sheckman, one candidate had to withdraw from the race for personal and work reasons. The board then announced Helen Tieger’s nomination.
“Helen is a very experienced nurse starting in clinical nursing, and she’s done just about everything in nursing that you can imagine, from hospice to administrative work to home care,” Sheckman said. “We feel she will be an excellent addition to the Board of Health.”
The Select Board had no further questions about the nominee, so Sheckman moved to nominate Tieger, which fellow Board of Health member Gargi Cooper seconded.
Select Board member David Grishman made a motion to approve the nomination, and the vote was unanimous by the board, officially making Tieger the newest member of the Board of Health.
