NAHANT — During the Board of Selectman meeting’s Town Administrator Report, Antonio Barletta announced that the Ward Road Pump Station construction has been making progress and is ahead of schedule.
“The trusses for the roof of the Ward Road Pump Station are starting to get installed. I got an update today that they are about five weeks out from having the building water-tight, so they’re moving ahead of schedule,” Barletta said.
The construction originally began back in June, and has continued through every month.
“They’ll be doing interior work probably all the way through the end of the calendar, and then their work will actually go on pause for a couple of months,” Barletta said.
He continued to say that the pause was due to waiting for the electrical components to arrive. It is believed that the work will restart in March.
In addition to the construction of the building, other small projects will be done in the area.
“We’re replacing the waterline in the park. There’s an old fire hydrant right there,” Barletta said. “Since we’re there and doing other utility work underground, we figured we might as well add that change order and put in a new hydrant and new service line.”
According to Barletta, the project is moving right along.
