SWAMPSCOTT — The Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) is still searching for its final member as it looks to fill nine resident seats for the group.
The three remaining seats opened up after the committee reorganized itself earlier in the year.
SWAC has filled two of the three empty seats over the past few months. The two new resident members, Matthew Pelland and Stefanie Neumann, introduced themselves during a meeting in February. The Select Board appointed both on Feb. 7. However, the third seat remained empty.
According to its website, “This committee will be charged with tracking results from Swampscott’s Solid Waste Policy and recommending to the Select Board, from time to time, potential changes/updates.”
Emily Westhoven, the Vice Chair of the committee, posted on Facebook asking locals to join the group.
She wrote, “If you want to actively join the discussion and help shape the town’s waste reduction and recycling programs in the future…apply to join the committee.”
Applications to join the committee are due by Thursday, Oct. 31.
