SAUGUS — Town Manager Scott Crabtree released a Town Manager update about the important upcoming events in the town.
The events include multiple days of leaf pick-up, a town hall trick-or-treat, and a shred it day.
For leaf pick-up, the town asks that locals get the leaves out at the curb by 7 a.m.
According to Crabtree, the event will occur three times. The dates are Oct. 28, Nov. 12, and Dec. 2, the same day trash is collected.
“If you have them in barrels, just leave that top off so they can identify that those are leaves to be picked up,” he said.
Town Hall’s trick-or-treat event will be held on Halloween, Oct. 31, from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
According to a press release, “Saugus children and their parents/guardians are invited to stop by Town Hall… Town Hall employees will hand out candy and assorted treats to visitors.”
The last upcoming event announced was Shred It Day. It will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Department of Public Works, 515 Main St., from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In a separate press release, Crabtree was also happy to announce Cliftondale Square would receive flashing pedestrian crossing lights.
“The illuminated flashing lights and signage are designed to capture the attention of drivers as they approach crosswalks,” Crabtree stated in the release.
These lights are also arriving as safety concerns have been brought up at Board of Selectmen meetings regarding the dangerous driving and roads around Saugus.
